Sea Campion (Silene maritima) 9cm Pots – Coastal Native Wildflower

A resilient and beautifully understated native wildflower, Sea Campion (Silene maritima) is perfectly adapted to some of the harshest conditions – and brings that same toughness and charm to the garden.

Naturally found along rocky coastlines, cliffs, and exposed grasslands, this low-growing plant forms neat cushions of blue-green foliage, topped with delicate white, bladder-like flowers that gently catch the light.

Despite its coastal origins, Sea Campion performs wonderfully in inland gardens too, particularly in free-draining soils, gravel areas, raised beds, and sunny borders where other plants may struggle.

Its flowers are especially attractive to pollinators, including moths and bees, and it plays an important role in supporting invertebrate life in dry, open habitats.

This is a plant that thrives on neglect – needing little in the way of feeding or care, and rewarding you with structure, texture, and wildlife value throughout the season.
