Ceylon Turmeric Golden Ceylon Turmeric has grown naturally in the spice gardens of Ceylon from ancient times. Carefully harvested turmeric rhizomes are dug out using wooden sticks, sun-dried naturally, and milled to make this powder.

Uses Brew into a herbal tea, steep in soup, stew, stock and curries. Mix turmeric with pepper powder and Himalayan salt in a shaker and sprinkle on baked potatoes, eggs, hummus, and salads. Blend into smoothies and bliss balls. Soak overnight oats with a dash of turmeric, healthy seeds, and nuts. Turmeric can also be used as a natural food dye. Turmeric also helps in preserving food from microbial activity.

Depending on the harvest and season every batch of Ceylon Turmeric can vary in color and to a minor degree in taste as it is a natural cottage-industry product that does not use any chemical refining, additives, or preservatives to standardize product like with large-scale commercially grown and heavily processed spices

100+ years of expertise Our Ceylon Turmeric sales supports the traditional livelihoods of villagers in the rainforest regions of Sri Lanka. Ceylon Turmeric is harvested by traditional methods handed down generations to preserve and retain its natural flavor. This traditional production allows village populations to utilize their age-old knowledge and expertise to survive in this modernized and mechanized world of manufacture by producing this 100% natural unrefined product. Backed by generations of expertise of the harvesters, and packed in a certified ISO and Organic processing mill, this product plays a vital role in the employment, welfare, and wellbeing of the rural village community. The children of our workforce are provided with school books and stationery for the entire school year. The mill also organizes religious and cultural events to inculcate a sense of belonging to a bigger cause, bringing a sense of pride and community to the villagers who are using age-old knowledge, treading lightly, and making a living for their families, sustainably.

Price for quality Our products are not mass-produced in vast industrialised factories. So we do not enjoy the economies of scale that supermarket brands do. We pay the millers and farmers a fair price. Specifically, batch-crafted for New Zealand, Kokonati & Heirloom products are made with multigenerational expertise and knowledge to be the best quality they can be and so easily justify the premium price for the premium quality you are getting.

Loyalty Just as we are fiercely loyal to the millers and families we work with, we also want to reward you, for your loyalty. So every time you purchase a Kokonati or an Heirloom product you also collect rewards points that can be redeemed for a discount at checkout. Remember to sign up for the reward points (the tab on the far mid-right edge of this screen).

Packaging and recycling 30g bag-in-box. Dispose of the soft plastic bag in the supermarket collection bin. The card box can be disposed of in your recycling bin. The reason we use a clear bag for spices is so you can see the product in the clear window in the front of the box before you buy. The box protects the product by reducing exposure to light thereby protecting the potency of the spice.

Advice when spices are used as a supplement: Most of these ancient spices have flavored our foods for centuries and are safe to consume regularly when used as a spice; a small proportion of ingredient when making foods. It would be very hard to overdose on a spice when it is a minute part of a food recipe. With recent research and articles highlighting the medicinal properties and health attributes of these spices, rather than just consuming it straight away as a supplement, it is always advisable to consult a nutritionist or doctor, if using this product as an ongoing treatment for a health issue. A health care provider may recommend a specific dosage depending on a person’s age, weight, and medical condition.
